Buyer's Guide: New 2020 Rolex Releases

Rolex updated the Submariner and Oyster Perpetual collections in September of 2020, introducing new case sizes and upgraded movements while also discontinuing several previous-generation references. This post takes a look at the current market situation for several of the most popular references.

The 41mm Oyster Perpetual (reference 124300) replaced the 39mm Oyster Perpetual in Rolex’s lineup, also causing the price for that watch to increase. The 41mm OP sells for $2,800 above retail on the secondary market (47% increase) and $4,900 above retail if bought from a dealer (68% increase).

The most recent update in almost a decade, the newest Submariner Date (126610LN) has slimmer lugs than the previous generation and an increase in diameter by 1mm (from 40mm to 41mm). This watch sells for $4,250 above retail on the secondary market (46% increase) and $6,950 above retail if bought from a dealer (76% increase). Correction: Lug to Lug is 47.6mm

The newest Submariner No-Date (124060) sports the same caliber as the Oyster Perpetual, the caliber 3230. The watch has also increased to 41mm in size and now has a wider bracelet than before. The 124060 sells for $3,400 above retail price on the secondary market (42% increase) and $5,800 above retail from a dealer (72% increase). Correction: Lug to Lug is 47.6mm
