A few years ago, Grand Seiko updated its branding on the dial of many of its watches, including its most iconic timepiece: the Snowflake. This update switches out the Seiko branding at 12 o’clock for a more prominent display of the Grand Seiko branding. Otherwise, the watch is completely unchanged…except the price!
The newer version (SBGA211) typically commands a $500 premium on the secondary market. Part of this is because they are newer watches - but they are perhaps also more desired due to the cleaner dial and more prominent display of the Grand Seiko branding. Would you snag the older model and save some money? Or is the premium for the newer model worth it to you?
