Price Breakdown: Rolex Sky-Dweller

The Luxury Travel Watch

The Rolex Sky-Dweller was first released in Baselworld 2012, though this ref. 326934 was the first to be offered in stainless steel with a white gold bezel. The Sky-Dweller puts a unique spin on the annual calendar complication, using the 12 hour markers to indicate the 12 months of the year. It is known as Rolex’s most complicated watch. A central subdial also allows for the display of a second time zone.

Uniquely, you can fully set the Sky-Dweller without the need for multiple crowns or pushers. Instead, Rolex innovatively uses a single crown and the bezel as the mechanism to control these functions. Rotating the bezel in quarter-turn intervals allows you to adjust a different function each time. The result is a watch that is quite clean and minimal for an annual calendar.

What do you think of this Sky-Dweller? Is it the ultimate travel watch?
