Price Breakdown: Santos De Cartier

The Santos de Cartier with a large white dial is a beautiful 2018 refresh of the world’s oldest sports watch – what do you think?

The 2018 Cartier Santos collection is based off of the 1904 Santos Dumont wrist watch for Brazilian pilot Alberto Santos Dumont. Notably, the watch has a Santos bracelet with a QuickSwitch and SmartLink system that makes adjusting the bracelet extremely simple. The watch also features 100 meter water resistance, an in-house caliber 1847 movement with 42-hour power reserve, a silvered opaline dial, a sapphire crystal, and a stainless steel case. This watch retails at $7,100, but it’s average after-market pricing is $5,500, which marks a 23% decrease in price on the secondary market. What do you think of this elegant and storied watch? What would you be willing to pay for it?
