Price Guide: Oyster Perpetual

One classic collection – three different sizes! Which Oyster Perpetual is your favorite?

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual is one of Rolex’s most popular watch collections, thanks to its classic simplicity and elegance. Three popular versions of the Oyster Perpetual, the 39, 41, and 36, all have similar construction with a few key differences in features and price.

The OP39 114300 is a part of Rolex’s 2015 lineup of Oyster Perpetual watches and is a great example of the OP’s clean, simplistic, and well-proportioned design language that makes the watch so appealing. Inside its steel case, it uses an automatic in-house caliber 3132 movement with 48 hours of power reserve. At $6,000, this watch sells at just 5% above MSRP on the secondary market and is cheaper than the other two sizes. Its price has been steadily increasing since its discontinuation earlier this year, but it still remains relatively affordable and a compelling entry-level Rolex.

The OP41 (124300) and OP36 (124600) both were new releases in 2020 that feature the newer caliber 3230 automatic movement that has 70 hours of power reserve. The 2020 launch does not feature a 39 mm size and instead replaces it entirely with the OP41. Unlike the 114300, these newer versions currently sell on the secondary market significantly higher than the older 114300, selling at market averages of $9000 and $8,500.
