The dual green Seikos. Which would you pick?
The Seiko Prospex Green Sumo derives its nickname from the watch’s large, bulky, and sturdy casing, much like a sumo wrestler. Designed to be a professional dive watch built for underwater conditions, it features an unidirectional rotating bezel. The dial is a vibrant, sunburst green color that, depending on the lighting, can change from deep green to emerald. Around the dial is an angled chapter ring to give the watch more depth. The Sumo is a very long running watch line, but this is the first.
The Seiko Prospex Diver MarineMaster Professional 300M (“MM300”) was first released in Baselworld 2018, after the discontinuation of the SBDX017 MarineMaster 300. Its official name is the 1968 Mechanical Divers 50th Anniversary Limited Edition “Deep Forest”. Its rich, dark green color is inspired by the forests of the well-known Yakushima island. To give a more earthy feel, the dial is also accented by brownish gold hues on the hands and markers. This reference is limited to only 1,968 pieces, with the individual production number engraved on the caseback.
